CHICAGO – Take an in-depth look at the 30 players that are currently in the Chicago Red Stars preseason camp.

GOALKEEPERS

Alyssa Naeher: Acquired before the start of the 2016 season, Naeher enters her second full year in Chicago. Leading the league in shutouts (6) and recording an NWSL record in shutout minutes (485), Naeher made an immediate impact in Chicago in just 14 starts.

DEFENDERS
Arin Gilliland: Since drafted in 2015 with the 8th overall pick, Gilliland has twice been awarded with league honors, including Best XI in 2016. The outside back was invited into her first U.S. Women’s National Team camp after an impressive 2016 campaign and will look to continue to rise in 2017.
Sarah Gorden: The first player ever drafted from DePaul University, Gorden appeared in four games in her rookie season with Chicago. A majority of her minutes are linked to an away match against FC Kansas City, where the team secured a shutout and playoff appearance.

Julie Johnston: Drafted 3rd overall in the 2014 NWSL College Draft, Johnston has since been allocated and a stable call-up by U.S. Soccer. Overall, Johnston has played 4050 minutes for Chicago and has two goals and four assists to her name.
Katie Naughton: A rookie in 2016, Naughton appeared in 17 matches for the Red Stars, primarily filling in on the backline.
Emily Richardson: An All-Conference player at University of Evansville, Richardson was a standout at the open tryouts and was invited in for preseason.
